b) Then there is the Pallu called the Thallaippu which is a pleat made in the front with a rich look and feel. 

c) A fabric is fastened around the hips from behind which define the hipline, known as the natabari.

d) Complementing the Odissi dance dress are elaborate filigree silver jewellery pieces, comprising of bangles, ear-rings, necklaces and anklets, arm pieces, etc. Finally, there is the Make-up which is simple, comprising White face paint, Red big bindi, Red dark lipstick, lots of safety pins, etc. The silver filigree ornaments and pith flowers are the trademark accompaniments to the dance of Orissa.

How to wear an Odissi costume:

_Put on your makeup and hairdo before wearing the entire costume. You can do hair and makeup after wearing just the blouse and trousers.

_Wear the blouse and the trousers.The big fan is attached to the trouser. Use a safety pin to fasten if required.

_Drape the pallu/Dhavani on your left shoulder to cover your chest and secure it. Two set of drawstrings provided, one to tighten at back and another to tighten at front.

1. _Wear the back cover (kamar-band) under the pallu and over the trousers.

Lastly, put on your temple jewelry and ghungroo and you are set for your dance performance.

The costume is pre-stitched and ready to wear. All articles have hooks and/or drawstrings to fasten. The pleats in these costumes open beautifully when the dancer sits in the chauka position, thus the name fan style costume.

_Material - Polyester Silk and Zari Brocade. The costume is made from polyester silk with a beautiful golden gota border and brocade zari blouse and fan. Easy and comfortable to wear. Can be used multiple times as the material is of excellent quality.
