Style: This Bharatanatyam practice saree comprises 3 pieces: Blouse (upper part), Skirt (lower part of saree), and Pallu/Dhavani (drape over bosom). The costume is pre-stitched and ready to wear. These practice sarees are also called half saree and the height of the saree will be shorter than our regular sarees. All articles have hooks and/or strings to fasten.åÊ

The pleats in the skirtåÊ open beautifully when the dancer forms a particular posture, especially arai mandi (half sitting) and muzhu mandi (full sitting).

Material: Pure cotton saree with patterns of dancers on the border. Made from authentic Kalakshethra sarees. Indigineous craftsmanship as the costume is stitched by tailors who have 30+ years of experience in this industry. Easy and comfortable to wear. Can be used multiple times as the material is of excellent quality.

How to wear a Bharatanatyam practice saree:

Wear a trouser or leggings underneath to start with.åÊ

1. Wear the blouse and button it. Your costume will have stitched margins in the blouse of 4 inches, so that you can open them yourself if they don't fit right.
2. Drape the pallu/shawl/dhavani on your left shoulder to cover your chest and secure it. Two set of drawstrings provided, one to tighten at back and another to tighten at front. The pallu̥s down part should be tucked beneath the skirt.
3. Wrap the saree around the waist. Hooks are provided so you can tighten to fit your waist size. Adjust the pleats in the skirt saree to be in front.
4. Take the side pleat fold from right to left and fasten it on the left side.
5. Lastly, put on your ghungroo and you are set for your dance class.

Package includes a 6 piece bharatanatyam costume only. (It does not include any jewelry and ghungroo.)
